Do saltwater pools still use chlorine?

Yes. Saltwater pools do use chlorine — they just generate it naturally from salt (sodium chloride) using a salt chlorine generator, rather than requiring you to add chlorine manually like traditional pools. This process creates the same sanitizing agent (hypochlorous acid) but typically results in softer, less irritating water with less of a strong chlorine smell. Saltwater pools still require regular testing, balancing, and professional maintenance to keep water safe and equipment running properly.

Do you service above-ground pools?

No — J AND L Pool Service specializes exclusively in in-ground pools. All of our equipment, training, and parts are geared toward in-ground systems, so we’re not able to take on above-ground pool service at this time.
